You may run into issues that your FusiformSCAN files are too large to transfer or download after taking your scans with the Fusiform iPhone app. This is completely normal and may be resolved through the following ways.

  1. Make sure you are using the latest FusiformSCAN app.

Navigate to the App Store on your phone to manage your FusiformSCAN app. If there are any updates available for your SCAN app, you should see an "Update" option to download the latest version of the FusiformSCAN app.

  2. Capture a shorter scan, usually between 1-3 seconds.

Capturing a scan for too long may increase the file size of your scan. The iPhone TrueDepth technology captures high quality scans that do not require an extended amount of time to capture. Retaking your scan, but limiting the time of your capture to 1-3 seconds will decrease the size of your file while keeping the same scan quality.

  3. Limit the excess environment captured by taking your scans closer to the object.

Finding the right position to take a scan can limit the amount of excess background in your scans, while also continuing to capture enough of the background to get the right depth for the scans. For example, capturing a scan of a foot by holding the back of the patient's ankle and scanning the foot from the front without a mirror can help position your scan and limit your file size.
